Latest Technology - Inman Aligner
Our Case-Of-The-Month for March is Ravin. Ravin had a full dental makeover which included orthodontic aligners i.e Inman Aligner which is similiar to the Invisalign but less expensive and quicker as it is the latest technology. The treatment took about 12 weeks to complete.
Dr Huson's solution for his top 10 front teeth were clear orthodontic aligners and dental veneers.
This first step involved Ravin's active participation. After Dr Huson analysed his teeth he went over possible options with regards to his desired look. He explained to Dr Huson the result that he wanted. Photos and models of his teeth were then taken.
Teeth cleaning and teeth whitening were carried out first by our thorough and accurate oral hygienist. After wearing the clear aligners (which are similiar to the Invisalign) for about 10 weeks to shift the teeth into the best positions for ideal cosmetics. The Inman Aligner straightens teeth quickly and effectively and much more cost efficient than braces. This latest technology make it affordable and easier to use as it is clear and removable. Should you have an important function the Inman Aligner (which is similiar to the Invisalign) is easy to remove and has a clear look so nobody will notice that you are wearing anything unlike braces. Dr Huson then prepared Ravin's teeth for dental veneers. Guided templates and stents were used to ensure that the absolute minimal enamel was removed from Ravin's tooth surface. (Often as little as 0.1 millimeters or often none at all). Dr Huson then removed any evidence of decay and carefully shaped the teeth to correct any chips or gaps. Before trimming of the enamel Dr Huson discussed the various pain free options with him. Dr Huson then made a model or impression of Ravin's teeth.
The model was then sent to our onsite lab technicians, who custom made the dental veneers. After a few days Ravin came back to get the veneers fitted. In the meantime, Dr Huson gave him temporary veneers. These temporary dental veneers match the planned final dental veneers. The reason why we do this is so you can see if you like the fit and feel and ask family and friends for their opinions on the aesthetics of your teeth.
Ravin came in again to our clinic where bonding was carried out before the dental veneers were permanently cemented to his teeth, Dr Huson temporarily placed the veneers so that Ravin could examine the fit and color. Slight adjustments were made at this stage because we have an onsite lab. Next, Dr Huson prepared the teeth to receive the veneers, the teeth were cleaned, polished, and etched -- which roughens the teeth to allow for a strong bonding process. A special cement was applied to the veneer and the veneer was then placed on Ravin's tooth. Once properly positioned on the tooth, Dr Huson applied a special light beam to the dental veneer, which activates chemicals in the cement, causing it to harden or cure very quickly. The final steps involved removing any excess cement, evaluating Ravin's bite and making any final adjustments in the veneer as necessary. Ravin then came in for a checkup to see if the veneers had taken to his teeth.
